Mainstream Jewish/Israeli Organisations are The Reason We’re Losing
Why Israel is alone & why I am (almost) done with these organisations
Israeli and Jewish leadership of mainstream organisations are the problem. Let’s stop pretending otherwise. There’s a reason we’re losing the narrative war—and it starts at home.
We’re stuck in an outdated playbook. Israel and Jewish institutions pour resources into "nice" educational videos, hoping to win hearts and minds. Meanwhile, Gulf states—Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar—are dominating the arena: buying businesses, recruiting global talent, bankrolling lobbyists, and building media empires (cough Al Jazeera) that shape world opinion.
The Gulf understands influence; we don’t. They grasp how to resonate with Middle Eastern and European audiences. Even America is growing increasingly pro-Arab (thanks to Qatari, Saudi and Emirati geniuses). On the other hand, we’re tone-deaf, recycling strategies that haven’t worked for decades.
“Oh look at this video of Jerusalem, Israel is so nice, welcoming and open” VS “Here’s $10 billion in investments, and, while we’re at it, how much is Tucker Carlson for?”Our diplomacy of “delegations” and tokenism is self-sabotaging theatre. We love tokenism, especially with a Muslim in traditional clothing or a hijab…..Bringing a Muslim to Israel for a staged hug with a rabbi? It’s not just cringe—it’s toxic. We destroy reputations of the very people we parade as "proof" of coexistence—careers left in tatters amidst accusations of espionage—achieving nothing beyond a photo op. Short-sighted, counterproductive, and outright disastrous. Most importantly, we can’t even quantify the success of any of these delegations, which is why I refused to join one shortly after October 7th and instead went to Israel at my own personal cost.
We hate it when antisemites use tokenism to suggest Neturei Karta extremists are the “real Jews”, but we too use tokenism for a box-ticking exercise! We refuse to listen—even when warned. I told Israeli diplomats in 2019 their Arab outreach was failing. Their response? "Okay, thanks. These issues won’t be resolved in our lifetime." Then they doubled down on the same broken tactics.
Excuses are our speciality. "Antisemitism!" "Everyone hates us!" "Qatar has more money!" True or not, they distract from the real issue: We’re prioritising the wrong messages, the wrong messengers, and the wrong strategies.
We beg for scraps with zero central strategy—it’s humiliating. Too many in our community lack backbone. For them, merely rejecting Hamas is "good enough". Take Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib: a Gaza-born commentator bankrolled by American Jews. He condemns Hamas but peddles poison:
Claims Netanyahu "prolongs the war to avoid trial" (parroted weeks after Oct 7, when Hamas remained fully armed and months before Ismail Haniyeh or Sinwar were killed; the leadership was virtually intact when he started calling for an end to the war)
Equates Israel with Hamas terrorists
Claims the IDF deliberately targets civilians, often sharing false material
Supports the French-Saudi plan for European countries and others to unilaterally recognise “Palestine”
Denies Israel’s right to self-defence
Ahmed’s genius lies in his mastery of the deadliest propaganda trick: wrapping a mountain of lies with a grain of truth. In the Arab world, we call this "adding poison to honey" – making toxic disinformation slip down like nectar. And, the guy got Jews to pay for it. He says everything any Palestinian says, just condemns Hamas in an American accent, and that got some American Jewish businessman to go: “Take my money, you wonderful Gazan”.
If Israel had a central PR strategy, it would have offered philanthropists the opportunity to connect them with the right talents who at least don’t demonise Israel, claim the IDF targets civilians deliberately, and lobby against Israel’s interests. But, here we are!
Imagine getting paid by a Jew to attack Israel, the IDF and lobby against Israeli interests……wooooow. Good for you, Ahmed. Absolutely brilliant!!!
7. Mainstream Jewish/Israeli organisations are paralysing our potential.
Every single one I’ve dealt with is slow, unoriginal, repellent to talent, and obsessed with recycling the same faces and failed ideas, while exploiting talent and demanding others work for free while they line their pockets with donations!
The American Jewish Committee (AJC):
A senior leader asked to meet me (September 2024) to tackle Egypt’s "relentless antisemitism". I shared solutions and followed up with concrete proposals. Their response after 9 months? "Still unsure, need more time to think." Why initiate contact just to dither? An Israeli "outreach" organisation:
Claimed they "loved my work" and wanted collaboration. When I proposed a project, which they liked, they demanded I fund the £4,000 pilot myself – despite knowing I’m a father of two and sole provider for my family. Then they harassed me for months to promote their work for free. Exploitative and delusional. The open secret:
This isn’t isolated. It’s the worst-kept scandal in our community. These organisations exploit passionate talent, while the same recycled "leaders" win prizes, draw salaries, and achieve nothing. Meanwhile, genuine achievers – like my Muslim British friend who lost his marriage over defending Jews – get asked to speak at events at his own expense, and even travel costs were denied. The Arab comparison:
Contrast this with an unnamed Arab state. They approached an influential Egyptian friend (post-Oct 7), pushing an "Egypt-first" narrative, mirroring Saudi Vision 2030 and urging Egyptians to leave the “Palestinian cause” behind them. They offered serious financial backing to sway his work. He refused out of principle but noted: "The pro-Israel side is the right side of history, but aligning with it gives me threats and headaches. The other side offers funding, fame, and protection."The ultimate betrayal (ADL):
When an Egyptian YouTuber falsely labelled me a "Mossad spy" – going viral with Egyptian MPs and celebrities endorsing it – my Egyptian family received death threats. I reached out to ADL’s Jonathan Greenblatt (20 Feb 2025) for urgent help to remove the content through ADL’s connections with social media platforms. His reply? "Send links, I’ll see." Radio silence. No follow-up, not a word of sympathy. I showed up for Israel's crisis. In my own? Radio silence from most. Only a few loyal friends and this Israeli hero running an unassuming NGO came through (If you're reading this, know your solidarity is etched in my bones).
The Devastating Cost
Maybe the world will always be against Jews. But we’re not just losing—we’re handing victories to our adversaries on a platter through our lethargy, arrogance, and culture of exploitation. And, tragically, these organisations are creating enemies out of allies. We’re labelled ‘child killers’, our families threatened, careers sabotaged – and for what? So someone at some Jewish organisation can invite us over for a nice podcast and give us some praise on how important our voice is while they cash cheques?
I am Jewish. I will always stand with Israel, but many others will abandon us. And, you know? I won’t even blame them. You would be stupid to blame people for prioritising their safety, jobs, and the future of their children!
I urge Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Minister Gideon Sa'ar, and Minister Amichai Chikli: you inherited a broken system, but it MUST CHANGE NOW.
Israel is increasingly alone. Europe abandoned us, and the US eventually will, whether it’s Republican isolationists or Democrats (Half of the Senate Democrats just voted to block aid to Israel), all roads lead to Rome. I dedicated my life to Israel. My research led to the UK government’s deportation of the Muslim Brotherhood’s leading Arabic-language broadcaster, and the prosecution of multiple individuals for terrorism offences in France, the UK, and Germany—among them a France-based Jordanian lawyer who co-led the International Criminal Court’s case against Israel. I never asked for anything in return.
Today, I ask, for the love of Israel, that you listen.
You simply don’t win a war because your side is the right side of history or because your cause is just. You win because you’re good at fighting, whether on the battlefield or in the media. In this war of hearts and minds, we’re absolutely fucking awful (pardon my French).

100 percent correct…the ADL spent time and money attacking David Horowitz and Pamela Geller instead of Antifa and Black Lives Matter!
Thank you Khaled, I’m signing up and supporting your excellent and tireless work. Your frustration is palpable, and depicts how many of us in the diaspora feel. Keep going and don’t be disheartened, the pendulum eventually swings the other way, and your truth (and recognition for it) is crucial for this change.
